Combat Soldier Salutes Sar-El Volunteers
We recently received a very moving letter in English from a combat soldier on one of our Sar-El bases. The soldier who wrote the letter felt he couldn't let the volunteers go away without thanking them for their help. His words and thoughts say it all, so we are reprinting it below unedited. |

Dear Sar-El Participants,
There is no way to express how much we appreciate the work you helped out with around our base. The life of a combat soldier is a tough one indeed, including anything from setting up ambushes on our enemies' borders, countless hours of guard duty at any time of the day or night, and the never-ceasing fear of being called to war, to the more menial tasks of preparing meals, cleaning dishes, weeding the grounds and taking out the trash. You guys coming for even one day to help out with these tasks gives us soldiers a bit of a break from the daily grind, and it is appreciated beyond words.
You take your precious time out of your busy schedules and leave your homes and families for weeks at a time to travel overseas to volunteer. This is something that we will never undervalue.
Thanks to you, we can perform our jobs of protecting Israel that much more effectively. We hope you continue to help out at the IDF in such a fantastic way, and we hope to see you again soon.
