Issue No. 52

Jan./Feb.  2011

Dear Friends,

The year 2010 has passed with its usual and most welcome level of intensive activity. Our volunteers have done much to help the Israeli Army prepare for all eventualities.

Sar-El's assistance is much needed and very important, even if our volunteers don't always realize this while performing their daily tasks. I know this because a great many officers approach us and ask for help, and I hear firsthand their disappointment when we cannot supply all the volunteers that they require at certain times of the year.

This year 3,370 people from around the world volunteered through Sar-El, for a total of 4,000 army stints (some of our volunteers stayed on and performed extra stints.)

You should all be proud of the results of your hard work, and we sincerely thank all of those volunteers who came to Israel and worked so hard during the past year. We also offer our gratitude to all those volunteers abroad who are working on behalf of Sar-El in an effort to recruit more people to our program.

Best wishes to all of you for the coming year, and here's to a continued and successful volunteering effort in 2011!

Yours,

Israel Geva

Executive General Manager
