Dear Friends, This last August we celebrated Sar-El's 25th anniversary in Jerusalem. We have been honored by General Avi Mizrachi, head of the Logistics and Medical branches of the IDF; and Zeev Belski, head of the Jewish Agency (Sochnut). Davidi and both honored guests gave short speeches that were interspersed by a performance of groups singing and dancing. The event also gave us an opportunity to present Davidi with a certificate of 600 trees, planted in his name, on behalf of volunteers in recognition of his 25 years of devotion to Sar El. This was also an opportunity to give Davidi the JNF tree certificate from the CVFI and the VFI. Together, all of the donated trees will constitute a 'Davidi Forest' in the Galilee. The ceremony at Binyanei Ha'uma took place after the volunteers spent the day visiting Jerusalem, where they toured East Jerusalem's historical walls, and of course visited the Kotel, or Wailing Wall. We extend our greatest appreciation to our 1,500 volunteers, who filled the congressional hall in Jerusalem, and sang and danced along with the groups performing on stage. I would like to thank all the volunteers who participated in this event. I would also like to extend a special thank you to those who came specifically in order to represent their countries: Vade Bolton and Marian Sacks with her husband from VFI/USA, Jacques Benhammou, Israel Alber, Henri Bore and Yossi Tapiero from UPI/France, Jack Bordan and Max Storer - CVFI/Canada, Jenni Goldstone and her husband from the U.K., and Janos From who attended on behalf of Hungary. Dear friends, on behalf of Davidi and all of the Sar-El staff I would like to thank all of you most gratefully, and wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. Shana Tova.
