Unlocking the secrets of a paratroop base

Thank you for my last Sar-El experience (January, 2007). It was "out of this world" and beyond words FANTASTIC!!!

I was in the 'experimental' group, located right by the airport on a paratroop base. All the volunteers

had been with Sar-El before and it was a wonderful mix of people: a very friendly, cohesive and    tolerant group. The staff on the base could not have been nicer, from the kitchen staff to the madrichot and all the way up to the highest in command.

The work we did was very exciting, knowing we were the 1st to be doing it, opening up storerooms that had been locked for many, many years, and knowing how very important our mission was. We helped prepare for the time (G-d forbid) when our soldiers, fighting over-the-border, would need supplies (nourishment, fluids, ammunition, even a jeep) parachuted down to them.

We helped prepare the chutes, pack the clothes, and count the inventory. We even had a chance to cook breakfast for ourselves and the small staff: eggs, American-style!

Watching the paratroopers jump at 5 a.m. was a thrilling highlight and one I will never forget.  I personally felt like we were "the chosen": hand picked for this very special assignment.

And so, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for this incredible and unforgettable experience!!!
