My Sar-El Experience

by Robert Medford

Hello Sar-el staff:

My Sar-El tour of Duty was 16 June 03 - 4 July 03 and it was one of the greatest times i've had.

I served at Batzap and I was working with the tank helmets and antenna's.  I made a lot of great friends and i can't wait to see you all again next year.

I can't say much for the food but lunch was good.  For breakfast I lived off of Access bars and coffee.  We only had to walk about 1/4 mile to eat.

The weekends and trips where a blast, my first weekend I went down to the Dead Sea area.  I hiked up Masada and Ein Gedi, that was an experience I'll never forget.  I hiked up 2 mountains in 2 days.

My second weekend four of us got a guide and went on the Golan Heights tour.  We stayed at the Kibbutz Nof Ginosar at a nice hotel.  I finally got to swim in the Sea of Galilee.  The next day we went to the Jordan/Israel border saw the fences with the Land mines signs.

We ate a good lunch at a Druze Restaurant.

The Madrichas were just awesome and I will miss you all.  I had four madrichas Leli, Yuli, Noga, and Neli.  Thanks for an awesome time.

I would suggest that anyone wanting to go to Israel, go on the Sar-El program.  It's hard work sometimes but well worth it.

Thanks for a life time of fun.
