AFter 26 years [in the] Air Force and the
Army of the United States the "Spartan" side
of things at the base wasn't so bad!.

Dear Administrators and Commanders,

I would like to take a moment and thank all who made my first trip to Israel one to always remember. I was able to meet new friends, see places that only Israel could offer, and share a meaningful working contribution for the future of this wonderful country. I have spent 26 years between the Air Force and the Army of the United States, and so the "Spartan" side of things at the base wasn't so bad. The accommodations were excellent at my location.

You can count on your commanders for support in whatever is the situation-no matter how slight you feel your needs might be. The food was very good and plenty of it. I actually had a very good diet for a change. I have brought these changes in diet back to America and practice them as much as possible.

I found a unique feeling of pride from the people throughout my travels and my work assignments, which in turn made me also proud to be serving with all of us; civilians and soldiers. I would like to thank my dear friend and associate Carol Weir for her persistence and excellence in recruiting me for Sar-el, moving me towards a most wonderful and meaningful time in a country that I have only read about.

My warmest regards to General Davidi and all who made all of it happen. It was a great honor for me to help; and during this Holiday time, may this year be prosperous and filled with blessings for all of you .

 Sincerely,

Walter G. Smythe US Army (retired)
