Newsletter No. 73 – January 2018

Dear Friends,

We have just finished another year of volunteering and assisting the Israel Defense Force (IDF).  Thousands of volunteers, who came from countries around the world, arrived full of motivation to give their time and efforts towards assisting the IDF, even though it meant living in less than ideal conditions. They did this mainly due to their love for the country of Israel and a desire to be of assistance.

I was happy to see so many parents who came to our Sar-El program with their children, and also grandparents with their children and grandchildren. These families make a great contribution and help ensure the continuation of Sar-El.

In today’s world, with so much uncertainty, Israel is an island of peace, even though it is impossible to know what will happen with our neighbors to the north or south of us.

The IDF provides us with the security and safety so necessary in today’s world, and the peace of mind in knowing that they will act to protect and shield us, or respond to any provocation, should it become necessary.

You, our volunteers, play an important and integral role in ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of the materials which help the army to continue in its role. Your volunteer work is important and you are extremely valued and appreciated.

I receive so many thanks and such great appreciation for your efforts, and I would like to take this opportunity to pass all of this along to you.

Please continue to come and volunteer for Sar-El and we will do all that we can to ensure that you have a worthwhile and successful experience while here.

Israel Geva

Executive Director, Sar-El
