Newsletter for August 2020

Dear Friends,

I hope that you and your families are well.

We are all looking forward to fully reopening the SAR-EL program as soon as possible. Unfortunately, I am not yet in a position to tell you how and when this will occur. As of now, the Coronavirus has resulted in many restrictions, some of them changing from week to week. I promise you and all the volunteers that as soon as we are able, we will inform you about restarting.

Meanwhile, we are available to you and are staying in touch daily with the IDF. We are pleased to report that a limited number of SAR-EL volunteers living in Israel have been able to provide some daily and even some weekly support on a few of our bases. This is accomplished with a variety of health and safety restrictions that are imposed on us, but it does allow us to offer a hand and keep in touch with the IDF.

Being realistic, I unfortunately don’t see a change in this situation before the end of this calendar year. I will, however, continue to update you every month as we move forward.

We are close to the high holy day season.  I want to wish you and your families a Shana Tova, may God bless you and keep you in good health. We miss you and are looking forward to having you with us again soon.

Yours,

Israel Geva, Chairman
