Volunteer Registration Process

To participate in the Sar-El volunteer program, there are two mandatory stages in the registration process. All stages of the application must be complete at least 6 weeks prior to the beginning of your program.   The entire application process can take up to 6 weeks to complete.

Step 1: Online Application & Interview

• Begin by filling out and submitting the application form via the link below.
• Once your application is reviewed by the Sar-El staff, it will be added to the queue for a video interview.
• The interview allows us to get to know you better, explain more about the program, and answer any questions you may have.
• After the interview, your file — including interviewer feedback and non-related references— will be reviewed again by our staff.

Step 2: Submission of Required Documents

If your application is approved, you will receive a second email containing a link to the required documents. These include:

• Indemnity waiver
• Medical approval form
• A request for a copy of the face page of your passport

Once all documents are submitted, reviewed and approved and your fees have been paid, you will be sent a confirmation email and important details about your upcoming volunteer experience.

Important Notes

• 🔒 Health and travel insurance is mandatory and must fully cover you throughout your participation in the program.
  Volunteers are responsible for arranging and paying for their own insurance.
• ✈️ Flight tickets are at the volunteer’s own expense.
• 🛏️ For volunteers staying several weeks, accommodation from Thursday evening to Sunday is not provided by the program and must be arranged and paid for by the volunteer.
• 📅 Program dates cannot be confirmed until your application has been fully approved.
• ✈️ DO NOT purchase airline tickets until you have received official confirmation of acceptance into the program.
• 🛂 Sar-El accepts only applicants who hold a valid passport (and visa, if required), which must remain valid for at least six months beyond the end of your program.
